Freshly Brewed: Our newest updates
Hey Sumter Coffee fam! We’re thrilled to have you all here!
Sumter Coffee Company started as a way to keep the “something good” tradition going that started with Brubaker’s Cafe and Bakery back in 2020. We’re so grateful for all of you who’ve supported our family-owned business, and we’re super excited to welcome all of our new friends to Sumter Coffee Company as we learn, grow, and bring you quality coffee. When Brubaker’s sadly closed, Rob and I wanted to keep the coffee experience and community building that had brought us to Brubaker’s in the first place. But we already own another Sumter small business, and having TWO brick-and-mortar businesses not at all related to each other in their respective industries was more than we could handle on our own. So, the idea for Sumter Coffee Company was born, with the Mullikin’s blessing, and we set out on this journey by signing up for our first Sumter Farmer’s Market and setting up this very website!
Since we already own a successful small business here in Sumter where Rob puts in a ton of his time, the job of running Sumter Coffee Company mostly falls to me, Megan. A little about me (Megan): I started our other business with Rob and our long-time friends also in 2020, and I’m still active as the finance manager in a work-from-home capacity. I also take care of Rob’s Dad, who lives with us full-time and has a lot of needs. And to top it all off, I’m disabled. It didn’t take many HOT Farmer’s Market days for me to realize that my physical limitations wouldn’t let me sit in the heat for hours at a time and still have enough energy to set up and tear down our booth each week without getting sick. Which meant I couldn’t properly care for my father-in-law or meet the needs of our family, other business, and Sumter Coffee Company!
Our team and family have been hard at work, and we’re thrilled to share some exciting news! On August 15th, we’re launching our latest creation: k-cup PODS! These pods are hand-filled and available in packs of 18, featuring all our current roasted bean varieties. We’ll also included a “sample pack” with three pods of our most popular roasts in each pack of 18 pods (excluding Decaf and Ethiopian).
In other news, we recently introduced our dry spice rub, “The Daily Grind.” It’s a signature blend of spices and Sumter Coffee Company coffee that’s perfect for beef, pork, chicken, fish, and even roasted vegetables.
Did you know? We’ve partnered with The Fuzzy Duck, who uses our coffee beans in her delicious hand-crafted lattes! You can also find our 12 oz coffee bags at Elephant Ear Artesian Market on Bultman Dr. from Monday to Saturday, and at Hand & Harvest Market on Alice Drive from Monday to Saturday as well. If you’re looking for Ricochet Roast, you can get it at Ricochet Range on Hwy. 15 S. from Thursday to Sunday.
We haven’t forgoten about the Sumter Farmer’s Market! If the weather permits, we’ll be back there to see all your smiling faces. In the meantime, we’ll keep our local shopping spots stocke and we appreciate your continued support of Sumter Coffee Company and our little family.
Thank you so much for being on this coffee journey with us! We’re excited to share more locations as time goes on. Stay tuned!
See you next brew,
Megan
